Today, the focus will be on statements 7 and 8 of the Pattern on the Trestleboard.
7 – Victory
Living from that Will, supported by its unfailing Wisdom and Understanding, mine is the Victorious Life.
Let’s come at this from the back side, shall we? A Victorious Life. What does that mean? Successful? And if that is the case, by whose standards? Granted, we all have further to go (or we wouldn’t be reading this!), but it’s safe to say that folks usually do consider “how things are going” in their life from time to time. As to whether we’re “just judges” of how things are progressing, well that’s another story. But there is indeed a way to get an “honest” view … and it’s into the tight, shadowed pathway inside … to your Self. (I’m thinking “rabbit hole” here.) Indeed, we’ve touched on this already (to a slight degree), but sometimes we need to hear things way more than once. 🙂
Joseph Campbell is known for saying, “follow your bliss,” and I suspect this is one of the most palpable indicators of the direction we “should” be taking. But once more, in order to know what your “bliss” is, that same journey “inside” is required. There’s just no escaping this, eh? At any rate, it is in that quiet space of getting to know your Self that this is discovered.
Now you may be wondering what the heck I’m doing here, but I’m convinced that if you do realize your “bliss,” you will be in lock step with (at least part of) your purpose in this turning of the wheel. This being said, would it be safe to say that you would be “living from that Will” (as in sync with God’s will for you)? I certainly can’t say for certain, but I do know it’s a pretty darn good place to start if you’re not sure.
And then comes the cool part … stepping “into” that bliss knowing you are “supported by Its unfailing Wisdom and Understanding.” Imagine taking on an endeavor with no risk of “failure” (note here: I’m not saying “challenges” would be out of the question) … that no matter what, you will indeed be Victorious. It would seem most folks would jump at this, but perhaps it’s because we’re so doggone demanding for “proof.”
Ah, patience grasshopper …
8 – Splendor
I look forward with confidence to the perfect realization of the Eternal Splendor of the Limitless Light.
The “Limitless Light” is said to be one of the three veils above the Tree. No, we haven’t “gone there” yet, but for the purpose of digging into this statement, it seems it would be helpful to mention. Suffice it to say, it is “beyond” our understanding, an aspect of Unity.
This is our home, from whence we came … and will surely return. This statement is a reflection of Self’s knowing that it will be … that we will experience the “Eternal Splendor.”
