Remember.

A number of years ago I came upon a book by Jamie Sams called Dancing the Dream. There, I read a story that was shared among the Native American people. Bringing it here, from memory, to share with you in my first (official) post seems quite appropriate. (Thank you Jamie!)

The tale is told of a babe in his mother’s womb, possessing all knowledge of all things as he still holds to an intimate connection with the Divine. as well … although the “knowledge” is still held deep within.

From that moment forward, the babe begins taking in information through all his senses … from the environment and all the people whose paths he crosses. Moment by moment, day by day, the flood of information flows, systematically covering over the “knowledge” held in the deep.

So it is that the babe begins to “forget” … as the once intimate connection with those Divine memories seems to fall further away with the continual onslaught of “worldly” ways and wisdom. So it is they say, that our purpose here in this journey is not so much to learn anything … as it is to simply remember.

Remember. Re-member. To come back together …

Have you ever had those moments where you feel you’ve forgotten something important, but you can’t quite put your finger on it?

Enjoy the day!
